My name is Evangeline Burgers and this is my second year as English Language Teacher at King. I am so eager to meet our English Language Learners and support them and their families within and beyond the King community. I previously worked with children in Princeton, New Jersey, and before that I taught in East Los Angeles, California. I started my career in education right here with Ann Arbor Public Schools in 2009 as a Teacher Intern (Northside) and then Teacher Assistant (Northside/Bach). I also spent a few years teaching in the Wayne-Westland Schools. My bachelor’s degree in Social Work is from Saint Louis University and my Master of Elementary Education is from the University of Michigan.

 

I live in Ann Arbor with my husband, Alex, and our two children, Henry (6) and Amelia (2). We have an eight year old chihuahua named Charlie. We love visiting my sister in New York City and our hometown of St. Louis, MO. On the weekends, you can usually find us at the Ann Arbor District Library, area playgrounds/parks, or the Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village.
